Hey, thanks for reading! I’m a student studying American history, education and journalism at Adelphi University in New York. Film is one of my biggest passions and I hope to share that with readers of this blog. I aim to provide insights into the films I watch through the eyes of someone seeking to learn about diverse perspectives of different cultures, countries and, as a whole, people.

In the years to come, I aspire to professionally write about World War II- and postwar-era films (from any country) as the periods have been portrayed in narrative, documentary and even propaganda films made when the events took place or in the years shortly following them. After completing my college studies, I plan to teach American history at the higher-ed level and, in my approach, discuss the role of film as a valuable historical resource.

Cultural histories play a huge role in how our societies are shaped, whether one realizes it or not, and films can provide unique insights into the mindsets of everyone from a government official living in a nation’s capital to someone roaming the streets of Seattle. Music and film are connected in many ways, with the former also displaying how art can influence history and vice versa, and I sometimes write about artists that are important to me as well.

I also talk about old and new movies that I simply enjoy beyond having any major significance (I’m not here to be a critic), so I hope you enjoy reading and also learn something along the way!

My (hopefully unpretentious) thoughts on movies, old and new. This is a spoiler-free space. "I'm a writer, not a society snoop." -Jimmy Stewart, The Philadelphia Story
